Hummer H2 model cars are produced by Dub City and Maisto. Both manufactures of diecast model cars produce various versions, with different details and paintwork. All are 1:18 scale. The Dub City Hummer H2 pictured above is a highly detailed model car that accurately recreates the rugged, military-derived lines of the Hummer H2 that is designed to be the ultimate civilian off-road vehicle.
Under the model car's opening boot lies a replica of the Vortec 6000 V8 325hp engine that propels the real Hummer H2 over pesky terrain with the greatest of ease.
The original Hummer was built for the military to repel a major Soviet Bloc invasion against
NATO. It did that so well the Soviets never attacked. But when military sales fell off at the
end of the Cold War, AM General looked to the civilian market to make up cash. In January 1999, GM and AM General signed a “contract manufacturing
agreement” to have AM General build the H2 using lots of GM parts. A year later the team
was assembled from GM Truck and AM General personnel and 16 months after that came
the finished H2
