Diecast Model Cars

The Hisory of Alfa Romeo Cars

Alfa Romeo Brera Diecast model car by Norev

Alfa was founded in Milan by a failing French automobile firm with Italian investors in 1910. Alfa short for ‘Anonima Lombarda Fabbrica Automobili’ produced hand built expensive sports cars and became involved in car racing as early as 1910. In 1915 Alfa came under the direction of Nicola Romeo who converted the factory to produce military hardware and in 1920 the company changed its name to Alfa Romeo. In 1932 Alfa Romeo went broke after its defense contracts ended and the company was saved by Benito Mussolini’s government who took control. After the Second World War Alfa Romeo changed to mass producing smaller models rather than luxury sports cars.  In 1954 Alfa Romeo developed its famous Twin Cam Engine which remained in production until 1995. Through the 60’s and 70’s the company struggled to turn a profit and were eventually bought by Fiat in 1986. Alfa Romeo continues to produce very distinctive and stylish sports cars today and quite a few models of these cars are available in die cast metal. Here are our Alfa Romeo diecast Model Cars.
