Diecast Model Cars

The History of Aston Martin Cars

Aston Martin 1934 Diecast Model Car by Signature

Aston Martin was founded by Lionel Martin and Robert Bamford in 1913. The pair owned a premises servicing and selling Cars in London. Martin raced cars for pleasure at Aston Hill and the pair decided to make their own vehicles. The first Aston Martin model was due in 1915 but the out break of the Great War stopped production. The company was refounded after the war and the first Aston Martin model named the Bamford rolled off the production line in 1920. During the early 20’s Martin and Bamford produced cars that competed in Grand Prix’s and set world endurance records at Brooklands. Despite this the company went bankrupt in 1924 and then again in 1926 when Bamord finally left the company. Later that year some rich investors took control of the company and called it ‘Aston Martin Motors’. The start of the Second World War stopped car production once again and instead the Aston Martin factory was put to use producing aircraft parts throughout the war. In 1947 Sir David Brown bought the company and later purchasing Lagonda and Tickford Coach building. This lead to production of the DB Model series, the DB5 made famous by James Bond of course. Some of our best selling 1/18th scale Die Cast cars have been Aston Martin’s including the V8 Vantage, DB9 and the very latest Aston One-77. Here are our Aston Martin Diecast Model Cars.
